Covering Letter
The cover letter attached to your CV is your introduction to your prospective employer. It is a chance for you to demonstrate your qualities, qualities that set you apart from the other applicants.
Do not write a novel. Keep it short, precise and professional. Each covering letter you write should be tailored around the specific job for which you are applying. Do not create a generic letter to suit every job vacancy.
The cover letter should evolve around the attributes you possess which you believe match those that are required for the role. You should look for key words in the job description or advertisement and address these elements in the body of the letter. Remember that what you say will have to be backed up with your CV.
Always proof read your letter, make certain that you have the name of the address spelt correctly together with the company name and address.
